Nearly Three Decades in the Making
Owner Amy Templeton grew up in California and studied Horticulture at Cal Poly State University, where a college course on the gardens of Versailles became the spark for what would eventually become The Gardens of Cranesbury View.
Her career took her to Monrovia Nursery Company and, eventually, to Texas — where she's now called home for 35 years. When she first found the New Braunfels property, it held little more than longhorns and cedar trees.
Today, 15 years since opening, the venue has grown into 32 acres of Hill Country grounds anchored by three acres of formal, sculptured European gardens — fountains, century-old oaks, and hedgework that still surprises guests expecting a more rustic Texas look.
"After 29 years working in weddings, I still love this part of the job most — getting to know each couple and their families, and helping shape the day they've been imagining."
Three acres of formal, sculptured Italian gardens set within 32 acres of Hill Country — a look Central Texas guests don't expect, and rarely forget.

Studying Horticulture at Cal Poly State University, Amy Templeton first encountered the gardens of Versailles — the inspiration that would eventually shape The Gardens of Cranesbury View.
A promotion with Monrovia Nursery Company brought Amy to Texas, where she's now lived for 35 years — building the horticultural expertise that still guides the gardens today.
The New Braunfels property held little more than longhorns and cedar trees before it began its transformation into a formal European garden estate.
The Gardens of Cranesbury View welcomed its first celebrations, bringing sculptured Italian gardens to a corner of the Texas Hill Country that had never seen anything quite like it.
Now spanning 32 acres with three acres of formal gardens and a dedicated ballroom, the venue has hosted hundreds of Central Texas weddings — with Amy and her team still involved in every one.
We provide a highly recommended vendor list of trusted professionals who are familiar with the property, which helps your day run smoothly. The one exception is bar service — we do require using one of our approved bartender options, though we offer a few different choices there. If you book one of our recommended caterers, many also offer bar service as an add-on. We also offer an in-house bartending option for couples who want a simpler, more budget-friendly bar setup.
